D-Day Remembrance: Why June 6, 1944 Still Demands Our Attention in 2026

Image
As we approach another anniversary of D-Day — June 6, 1944 — the beaches of Normandy call to us across the decades. On that fateful morning, tens of thousands of young men stormed into hellish fire, determined to break the back of Nazi tyranny. Many never left those blood-soaked sands. They gave their lives so that others might live in freedom. For those of us who hold fast to the old paths, who believe the Bible from cover to cover and reject the spirit of this age, this is far more than a history lesson. It is a solemn spiritual summons. Scripture Commands Remembrance The God of the Bible is a God who repeatedly calls His people to remember. After crossing the Jordan, Joshua commanded twelve stones be set up as a memorial “that all the peoples of the earth might know the hand of the Lord is mighty” (Joshua 4:24). The Passover, the Lord’s Supper — these are divine institutions of remembrance. Deuteronomy warns sharply: “Beware lest you forget the Lord your God” (Deuteronomy 6:12). Whe...

The Coronation Of The King

Image
After Jesus had spoken to them about the kingdom of God and the coming power of the Holy Spirit , something extraordinary happened on the Mount of Olives . The risen Lord—fully alive, fully human, fully divine—was taken up before their very eyes. A cloud received Him out of their sight. In that moment, the King of kings was crowned. This was no mere disappearance. This was the coronation. The same Jesus who had walked dusty roads, touched lepers, calmed storms, and conquered death now ascended to the right hand of the Father. He entered the throne room of heaven not as a servant but as the victorious Sovereign. Every knee in heaven bowed. The angels sang. The Father placed the scepter in His hand. The One who had humbled Himself to the cross was now exalted above every name ( Acts 1:9 ). The disciples stood there, necks craned, eyes locked on the empty sky—exactly where many of us find ourselves today. That is when two men in white appeared with the gentle rebuke that still echoes thr...

What Are You Looking At?

Forty days after the resurrection, the risen Jesus stood on the Mount of Olives with His closest followers. He had proven He was alive—eating fish, teaching Scripture, opening minds that had once been locked in confusion. He spoke plainly about the kingdom of God . Then He issued the final marching orders: “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” ( Acts 1:8 ). A moment later He was taken up before their eyes. A cloud hid Him from sight. The disciples did what any of us would do: they froze, necks craned, eyes glued to the sky, staring into empty blue as if sheer willpower could pull Him back down.   That is when two men in white appeared and asked the question that still cuts through every prophecy conference, every end-times podcast, and every late-night headline scroll:   **“ Men of Galilee, why do you stand here looking into the sky? ”** ( Act...
