America Is Becoming A Socialist Nation

Norman Mattoon Thomas was born in 1884 and died in 1968.  He was a leading American Socialist, pacifist and six-time presidential candidate for the Socialist Party. In 1944, Norman Thomas, as a candidate for president said in a speech,   " The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism,’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened." He went on to say,  " I no longer need to run as a presidential candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democrat Party has adopted our platform." I agree with Mr. Thomas, but I would also include many in the Republican Party who have strayed from their conservative roots. I would most certainly include Sen. Richard Lugar in this group of Republicans. The next national election may be the most important in the history of this country. We must elect individuals who will put our country, and ...

Open letter to Joe Donnelly, Evan Bayh & Richard Lugar

I want Congress to scrap the healthcare bill the House just passed, and the similar bill pending in the Senate. It seems to me that Mr. Obama and many other Democrats lied to win election (just like the Republicans did before them). We were promised . . . No mandates requiring Americans to buy health insurance No tax increases on Americans earning less than $250,000 a year A tax cut for the middle class The House and Senate healthcare bills break these promises. This is both a mandate and a tax increase -- two broken promises in one short sentence. Congress wants to force all Americans -- including those who earn less than $250,000 a year -- to buy government mandated insurance (a tax!), or pay a tax penalty if we don't. Either way we're going to pay higher taxes to comply with your wishes, or face a polic...

A "Talk" With Senator Richard Lugar's Office

Melissa Lineberry, the Indiana Interim State Coordinator for Campaign For Liberty , had been trying to contact Indiana Senators Richard Lugar and Even Bayh to find out when they would be in state during this last Congressional recess. The main reason for the inquiry was to invite them to attend a Town Hall meeting during the break to see where they stood to vote on several upcoming issues. Senator Bayh’s office answered promptly in the negative. “Dear Melissa, Thank you for your scheduling request. There are no town halls scheduled for the Senator's trip to the state during August recess. The Senator will be traveling around Indiana for his annual Job Fairs, which he does at this time every year. If you or these constituents would like to meet with a Regional Director to discuss issues or concerns, please let me know. I am happy to contact the correct individual to set up a meeting for you. Thank you again for your request. Sincerely, Stephanie Cherkezian Deputy Scheduler Office ...
