The False “Jesus, Son of David” of Israel: Why Yeshua Ben David Cannot Be the Messiah and Why He Fits the Spirit of the Antichrist
Beloved in Christ,
In recent weeks, Christian prophecy watchers and ordinary believers alike have been stirred by news out of Israel. A man named Yeshua Israel Ben David (Hebrew: ישוע ישראל בן דוד) led a small party called Gan Eden (“Garden of Eden” or Paradise) into the October 27, 2026, Israeli Knesset elections. His name, when translated into English, reads “Jesus, Son of David.” He spoke of serving as a priest in a future Temple, viewed the Knesset as a modern Sanhedrin, and ran with ambitions for prime minister and finance minister. His platform centered on a “National Jubilee” of debt forgiveness, basic income, and social transformation. The party received fewer than 800 votes and won no seats.
The name alone set prophecy channels ablaze. Some asked whether the end of days had arrived on a ballot slip. Others scanned photos for Antichrist signs. The man himself has not issued a clear, public declaration that he is the Messiah (according to careful reporting such as Israel365 News). Yet private claims circulating in Israeli Messianic circles, his Temple-related imagery, his political ambitions in Jerusalem, and the deliberate use of a name that echoes the true Messiah have rightly raised alarms. Scripture gives us clear reasons why this man cannot be the Messiah—and why he bears the marks of a false messiah and the spirit of the Antichrist.
The True Messiah Is Already Known
There is only one Messiah: the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, the Son of David, the root and offspring of David (Revelation 22:16). He was born of the virgin Mary in Bethlehem according to prophecy (Micah 5:2; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1–2; Luke 1–2). He is of the tribe of Judah, the line of David (Genesis 49:10; 2 Samuel 7; Romans 1:3). He lived a sinless life, performed the works the Father gave Him, and fulfilled the Suffering Servant prophecies of Isaiah 53 by dying on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for sin. He rose bodily from the dead, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return in power and glory (Acts 1:9–11; Revelation 19).
No political candidate, no modern Levite from Lithuania born in 1988, no man seeking election or a priestly role in a rebuilt Temple can fulfill these prophecies. The Messiah’s kingdom does not arrive through campaign ads, ballot letters, or debt-jubilee platforms. “My kingdom is not of this world” in the sense of political maneuvering (John 18:36). He comes from heaven, visibly, with the clouds, and every eye will see Him (Matthew 24:30; Revelation 1:7). He does not need to run for office; He is already King of kings and Lord of lords.
Yeshua Ben David was born in Lithuania in 1988, raised in the Galilee, and identifies as a Jew, a Levite, and of the house of Joseph. He has no virgin birth, no Bethlehem nativity, no fulfillment of the atoning death and resurrection, and no lineage through Judah as the promised Davidic King. He cannot be the Messiah. Period.
Jesus Warned Us of Exactly This
Our Lord was clear: “Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many” (Matthew 24:4–5; see also Mark 13:6, 21–22; Luke 21:8). He said false christs and false prophets would arise and show signs if possible to deceive even the elect. The apostle John wrote that “the spirit of antichrist” is already in the world and that “many antichrists” have come (1 John 2:18; 4:3). These are not limited to one final figure; they are the many counterfeits that prepare the way and test the Church.
A man whose name translates as “Jesus, Son of David,” who seeks political power in Israel, who speaks of the Temple and priesthood, and who has been associated with claims of being “He” in private settings fits the biblical pattern of false messiahs. The Antichrist of 2 Thessalonians 2:3–4 will oppose Christ, exalt himself above all that is called God, and sit in the Temple of God claiming divine status. Interest in a Third Temple, Sanhedrin-style authority, and messianic imagery in Jerusalem is precisely the kind of preparation Scripture leads us to watch with sobriety. Whether this particular man is the final Antichrist or simply one of the many false ones, the spirit is the same: it steals the title and role that belong to Christ alone.
Discernment, Not Panic
We do not need to panic or set dates. The true Antichrist will be revealed in God’s timing, and the restrainer is still at work (2 Thessalonians 2:6–7). Gan Eden’s negligible support shows that this particular figure did not capture the nation. Yet the episode is a live illustration of Jesus’ warning. Names, Temple dreams, and political platforms in Israel can sound biblical while denying the finished work of the cross and the already-accomplished first coming of the Son of David.
Our response is not fascination with every claim, but firm confidence in the Word. The real Jesus, Son of David, has already come. He died and rose. He is coming again. Until that day, we preach the gospel, pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122), and refuse to be deceived by any who come in His name.
