The Holy Spirit Never Contradicts the Scriptures He Inspired
"Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth." — John 16:13 Every true child of God is indwelt by the Holy Spirit. “If any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his” (Romans 8:9). “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (Romans 8:14). This is precious. It is also one of the most abused sentences in the modern church. The Spirit of truth guides into truth. He does not authorize a divorce Scripture forbids, a scheme the Word condemns, a partnership with darkness in the name of ministry, or a departure from a sound church because the preaching has begun to meddle. The same Spirit who moved holy men to write Scripture (2 Peter 1:21) will not now whisper a different gospel. God is not at war with Himself. His leading is bound to Christ and to the apostolic Word.
