A Fiery Call to the Faithful: The Wrath of God in Ezekiel 25:17

In these tumultuous times, where the world spirals into moral decay and the church faces relentless assault, it's crucial we return to the unyielding truths of Scripture. Today, I share a homily delivered to a gathering of fundamentalist Christians—a message that ignites the soul and reminds us of God's sovereign justice. Drawing from Ezekiel 25:17, this exhortation calls us to awaken, repent, and proclaim the Gospel with unquenchable fire.

Awake, O Saints! The Thunder of Divine Vengeance

Awake, O saints! Rise up, you warriors of the faith! Hear the thunderous roar of the Lord from the pages of His eternal Word! Ezekiel 25:17 explodes with divine fury: "And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them!" This is no whisper, brethren—this is the battle cry of Jehovah God Himself, the King of Kings, who will not tolerate the mockery of His holy name! As fundamentalists clinging to the unadulterated truth of Scripture, we must shout this from the rooftops: God’s vengeance is coming like a storm, swift and unrelenting!

Look back, my brothers and sisters, to the blazing context! The Ammonites, those vile enemies of Israel, dared to sneer and gloat as God’s temple was ravaged and His people scattered (Ezekiel 25:3-6). They cried "Aha!" in their arrogance, but the Lord God Almighty declared war! "Vengeance is Mine!" He thunders in Deuteronomy 32:35, and oh, how their feet slipped into destruction! This is our God—the jealous, holy One who crushes the proud and exalts the humble. He reveals His sovereignty through judgment, forcing the wicked to bow and confess: "He is the Lord!"

Do you not see it, church? In this godless age, the spirit of Ammon lives on! Nations rage against the Creator, promoting filth and perversion, persecuting the righteous remnant! Abortion mills slaughter the innocent, governments mock marriage as God ordained it in Genesis 2:24, and the wicked parade their sins like Sodom (Isaiah 3:9)! But tremble, O world! The same God who toppled empires in the Old Testament is poised to strike again! As Hebrews 13:8 proclaims, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever—unchanging in His wrath against sin! Revelation 19:11-16 paints the picture: Our Lord returns on a white horse, eyes like flames of fire, His robe dipped in blood, smiting the nations with the sword of His mouth! Hallelujah! The day of vengeance draws near!

Yet, saints, do not dare take the sword yourselves! Romans 12:19 blasts forth: "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, saith the Lord!" No, we are called to be flames in the night—preaching repentance, storming the gates of hell with the Gospel! Christ Jesus, the Lamb slain, absorbed God’s furious vengeance on Calvary (Isaiah 53:4-6), that whosoever believes might escape the coming fire! But woe to the rejecters! Psalm 2:12 warns: "Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and ye perish from the way!" Repent or perish! The lake of fire awaits the unrepentant (Revelation 20:15)!

In these perilous last days—wars raging, apostasy spreading, the love of many waxing cold (Matthew 24:6-12)—hold fast to the fundamentals! The Bible is inerrant! Christ is God incarnate, virgin-born, crucified, risen, and returning in glory! Ezekiel’s watchman call echoes: Sound the alarm (Ezekiel 33:6-7)! Warn the lost! Evangelize with fire in your bones, like Jeremiah (Jeremiah 20:9)!

Examine yourselves now! Are you lukewarm, compromising with Babylon? Repent! Fan the flames of holiness! Let us storm heaven in prayer: O God of vengeance, shine forth (Psalm 94:1)! Ignite Your church! Crush the wicked! Let all know You are Lord! In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen and Amen!

This homily isn't just words—it's a rallying cry for every believer standing firm against the tides of compromise. As we navigate the end times, let Ezekiel 25:17 fuel your zeal. Share this message, discuss it in your fellowships, and live it out boldly. The Lord is coming soon—maranatha!

In Christ,

DMMC
