Walking Again — Stewardship of Restored Strength

Living as those who have been given life again

When strength begins to return, a new responsibility appears. We are not owners of our recovered health; we are stewards. Romans 12:1 calls us to present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God. The strength the Lord restores is to be used for His glory, not merely for our former comforts or ambitions.

Psalm 116:12-14 asks the right question: “What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me? I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord. I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.” Recovery is a fresh opportunity to walk carefully, redeem the time, and serve with the strength that remains.

Some will be restored to full former strength. Others will walk with a limp, like Jacob after Peniel, yet still lean on the Lord. Either way, the call is the same: walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called (Ephesians 4:1). Use the recovered days to pray more, to encourage the weak, to speak of the Lord’s faithfulness, and to keep eternity in view. The God who healed is the same God who will one day wipe away all tears. Until that day, we walk in the strength He supplies, one obedient step at a time.
